Dr. Malak El Ashiry is one of Egypt’s prominent female business leaders in commercial real estate investment, project management, operations, marketing, retail expansions and destination management. She currently serves as General Manager and Managing partner of Counsel Masters, where she leads the company’s operational, commercial, and marketing strategies across a portfolio of prominent commercial and entertainment destinations in Egypt.
Dr. El Ashiry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The American University in Cairo (AUC) and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. With more than ten years of professional experience, she has developed extensive expertise in managing commercial projects, developing brands, strategic marketing, organizing specialized exhibitions and conferences, and creating integrated commercial and entertainment experiences.
Throughout her career, Dr. El Ashiry has played a key role in the development, management, operation, and marketing of major commercial destinations in Egypt, including Mamsha Ahl Misr, one of Cairo’s prominent mixed-use entertainment destinations; North Square Mall in New Alamein, where she oversees the mall’s management and operations; as well as West Bank El Manial Project and Viale Residence.
Under her executive leadership, Counsel Masters has received several industry recognitions, including The Best Award for Best Management Company in 2024/2025, as well as recognition by Business Today’s BT 100 in 2023, acknowledging the company’s achievements in commercial project management, operations, and the development of integrated retail, entertainment, and lifestyle experiences.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Dr. El Ashiry has established and led a number of specialized business &investment programs exhibitions, conferences, and industry platforms focused on retail, investment, entrepreneurship, franchising, and brand expansion across Egypt and the region.
Among her most notable initiatives is BiznEX Expo, which was held for five consecutive years and became a prominent platform connecting investors, entrepreneurs, franchise operators, and local and international brands. She also founded and organized the Egypt Retail Summit, which was held for three consecutive editions and brought together key stakeholders from the retail and commercial sectors.
Dr. El Ashiry also played a leading role in organizing the Egyptian Pavilion at the Saudi International Franchise Exhibition in Riyadh in 2018, 2019, and 2024, under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, promoting Egyptian brands and investment opportunities and supporting their expansion into regional markets.
